We’ve been loyal customers of Seasonal World since they installed our pool 15 years ago…. using them for all our pool chemicals, openings, closings and the occasional repair (i.e. probably close to a couple thousand dollars per year). In August we decided to replace our aging liner as we prepare to sell our house. The job was completed at the end of August and we noticed defects along the seams. We reported it immediately and I was lectured by the back office that this liner was a different manufacturer than our previous liner and it was of very high quality (not that I had questioned it nor had I had any issues with the previous liner …other than age). Long story short, it’s now Nov and we are still going back and forth trying to get them to cover the cost to replace the defective liner. While the manufacturer is willing to supply a new liner, Seasonal World apparently doesn’t back their manufacturers (who, by the way, they chose for us …we were not given an option) by providing the labor and that will be a good chunk of the cost. Currently we are waiting for the decision makers to return from out of town (again) to find out what they are willing to do. Buyer beware on any big-ticket items…it’s a long fight to get them to back the manufacturers/equipment they sell if they will at all.
We've looked into ~6 different pool companies; everything from the big name companies to the niche market custom providers. All I can say is that seasonal world came in last. They have an impressive showroom, presentation, and 3D CAD drawing (which we paid ~$450 for), but they reek like used car salesmen and I would never trust them. John, our "consultant" (what a joke) was rude, condescending, and just all-around abrasive. He was king of the cliches and one-liners. While speaking to us it felt like he had given the "pitch" a million times before and had a canned response for everything. When a customer is prepared to make a 6 figure purchase, don't treat the process as it should be all wrapped up in 30min. & we are an inconvenience.
***edited*** I still whole heartedly had an excellent experience with Jay, Cathy at the check out counter was extremely rude. Not only did she make me feel like a criminal for trying to use a coupon for a free ornament , she screamed across the floor to get the person who GAVE IT TO US! Cathy, you've put a bad taste in our mouths.
Jay was extremely helpful in our experience today. Any questions we had, he happily answers. An impromptu trip that turned excellent.
